Our Founder, "Timber" Tina Scheer

I grew up in Hayward, Wisconsin, the Home of the Lumberjack World Championships, where I started log rolling at the tender age of 7 years old. Every summer, my siblings and I would spend our days log rolling and as we grew older, we became interested in the chopping, sawing, axe throwing, and speed climbing. Eventually my family started SCHEER’S LUMBERJACK SHOW, which featured a permanent lumberjack show site, in addition to a mobile road show. I worked for 15 years with my family as a manager, performer and promoter before I branched off on my own in 1996 to start THE GREAT MAINE LUMBERJACK SHOW, a permanent logging sports exhibition/facility serving Acadia National Park’s tourist area in Trenton, Maine. I chose Maine as the place to start my Lumberjack Show because it’s important History with Logging in America as well as the life style of the people and the land. My Lumberjack team still performs from mid-June through Columbus Day.

In 1997, I founded the WORLD CHAMPION LUMBERJILLS, the 1st All-Women’s Logging Sports traveling exhibition. This was natural step for me, as I have been involved in logging sports all of my life while also promoting women in the sport both in the competitive ring and through exhibitions. I single-handedly promoted & sponsored the first woman’s underhand chopping and cross cut sawing events at the Lumberjack World Championships in Hayward, Wisconsin as well as promoting women at The Royal Sydney Show in Australia.

I have competed in and performed at exhibitions all over the world including Australia (10 times), New Zealand, Africa, Germany, over 45 United States, and 7 Canadian Provinces. I have given speeches at many schools and camps across the globe regarding lumberjack sports and its history, as well as being an inspirational & motivational speaker regarding my life as a business woman, Lumberjill athlete, Mother, reality TV star, and all of the experiences it has provided me!
